Strong Q3 Keeps Airbus on Track for 720 Aircraft Deliveries

As reported by Simple Flying, “Airbus On Track To Deliver 720 Aircraft In 2023 After Strong Q3,” Airbus is set to achieve its ambitious delivery target of 720 aircraft by year-end, buoyed by strong third-quarter performance. The European aircraft manufacturer has delivered 488 commercial planes so far in 2023, showing steady progress despite ongoing supply chain challenges. Deliveries include 391 A320-family aircraft, 41 A220s, 20 A330s, and 36 A350s.

Financially, Airbus has seen significant growth, with adjusted earnings of €3.6 billion ($3.8 billion) and revenues up 12% to €42.6 billion ($45.5 billion) compared to 2022. Orders from Eva Air and Lufthansa Group have boosted Airbus’s commercial backlog to over 8,000 aircraft as of September 2023.

Airbus is scaling up production to meet increasing demand and its 2026 targets. The A220 narrowbody program will increase to 14 aircraft per month, while the A320 family is set to reach 75 monthly deliveries from the current 50. Widebody production for the A350 will rise to 10 aircraft monthly by 2026.
