The Fenton Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has been in the news a lot lately, but there still are many questions people have about how this group operates and accomplishes its goals for downtown development.
Since its inception in 1993, the Fenton DDA has been actively involved with the Fenton City Council, Planning Commission and residents for the goal of economic development in Fenton City.
Times’ Reporter Sally Rummel interviewed Fenton DDA Executive Director Mike Burns on Tuesday, and here are his responses.
Q. What are the physical boundaries of the Fenton DDA?
A. The downtown district zigzags a little bit around the city. Included in the district are properties on LeRoy Street from Elizabeth to Sixth streets. It jogs over to the east from Walnut to Adelaide and extends from Silver Lake Road to Owen Road, including Silver Parkway. Everything south of Silver Lake Road is in the district, plus some of the businesses in the Industrial Park.
