Airbus Surpassing Boeing as World’s Largest Aircraft Manufacturer

Airbus is about to pass Boeing to become the world’s largest aircraft maker.

Airbus has already delivered 150 more jets than Boeing through the first six months of the year.

According to sales figures reported this week, airbus has sold 389 aircraft compared to Boeing’s 239.

The gap will likely get wider as Boeing has not been able to deliver any of its best-selling 737 Max planes since march when the jets were grounded following two deadly crashes.

Boeing and Airbus dominate the commercial aircraft market, and both companies have a backlog of orders that will keep them busy making planes for years.

The good news for both companies is that the demand for air travel, and new fuel-efficient planes, is growing.
